Women, Food, and God
by Geneen Roth
I recently finished Geneen Roth’s latest book Women, Food and God. Roth has been writing about weight and body image for over 20 years and is an author I often recommend for clients struggling with those issues. Her basic premise of Women, Food, and God is that weight is not just a physical issue, but also a spiritual one. Her solution relies on digging into one’s deepest fears and core beliefs. As usual, Roth’s book is insightful and thought provoking.
Creative Visualization: Use the Power of Your Imagination to Create What You Want in Your Life
by Shakti Gawain
A book I often suggest, Creative Visualization: Use the Power of Your Imagination to Create What You Want in Your Life by Shakti Gawain, focuses on the use of affirmation to create the life you envision. Affirmations can be used whatever your goal may be; self-esteem, relationships, career, etc. and Gawain breaks the book into sections based on goal type. I have witnessed clients using some of these techniques to help them reach their personal goals and believe Gawain’s methods can truly work.
